For us, opening our cafe in Dunshaughlin has been rewarding from the get-go. Along with opening our sister cafe Five Good Things, opening Plate & Palette has given us the chance to serve up our favorite specialty coffee, sumptuous food, and most importantly, the opportunity to get to know our customers. Whether you stop by for your morning coffee, a quick bite, or even a failsafe full Irish breakfast, we love nothing more than the chance to chat, have a laugh and get to know the people who make Plate & Palette what it is.
So, what brings you here? You’re looking for some weekend lunchtime or brunchtime inspiration? Lets get to it.
For most of us, cooking at the weekend is a chance to unwind and relax after working hard all week. So what better way to start your weekend than with a delicious, indulgent brunch. To keep things exciting, here at Plate & Palette, we are constantly creating, crafting, and perfecting new recipes for our menu by experimenting with different flavor combinations. Over time we’ve figured out what works best, as well as what doesn’t. The good news is that we’ve come up with what we think are some of the best brunch recipes in Dunshaughlin, Ratoath, and beyond!
Avocados On Toast
This one has to start with the right bread. At our cafe, we like to use a nicely crusted slice of bloomer bread. From there we add our freshly smashed, creamy avocado, and of course, two perfectly poached, locally sourced eggs. Then this is where we start to get a little creative. How about adding some crumbly feta, some sweet and vibrant tomato salsa, and our homemade, super-secret recipe spiced yogurt. Sounds good, doesn’t it…
Another all-time classic, pancakes are the perfect idea for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and whatever else you fancy. For us, it has to be thick, fluffy American-style pancakes, served up with fresh, crispy streaked smoky bacon. To top it off, we usually go for either maple syrup, or classic nutella mixed with fresh fruit.
This one has to be our favorite. We’re very proud of it. So, what’s in it you ask? Well, firstly we take some crispy, crunchy golden potato hash, add a little bit of locally sourced black pudding, some garlic-infused rocket, and to finish off in style, our very own, homemade red onion marmalade. This one has to be tasted to be believed, so let’s just leave that one there.
To see for yourself, why not come and say hello? Our cafe is located in Unit 3, Supple House, Main Street Dunshaughlin.
